FAQs

How is Bethany House funded?

Our funding comes from community support and grants. We do not currently receive any federal or state funding which is why local support is so important to us.

As we rapidly approach the end of our current grant funding our two full-time case management staff, we are seeking out businesses, churches, and individuals who want to partner with us to further our mission of providing transitional housing and supportive services to young women aging out of foster care or at risk of experiencing homelessness. If you or someone you know would like more information on how to partner with us, please contact Amy at bhdirector@outlook.com.

What types of services does Bethany House provide?

According to our mission, Bethany House provides transitional housing and supportive services. In addition to the housing subsidy, our supportive services encompass the individualized case management and assistance that each resident receives, as well as the clients of our Resource Center. This case management takes a holistic look at the needs of each individual as they enter our program, and utilizes a scaffolding approach to join our residents and clients in their need and provide one-on-one assistance in the tasks and steps towards meeting the goals to gain and maintain independence.  Our main areas of assistance are education, employment, financial literacy and wellness, health and wellness, mental health, general life skills, and transportation. For any areas where our residents are in need of additional assistance beyond what we are able to provide as an independent living facility, our staff will create connections with other service providers in our community that specialize in the needed area of service.

How long can a girl stay at Bethany House?

Because every individual we encounter is at a different place in their life and arrives with different experience, we do not enforce a timeframe for the completion of goals. Our residents are permitted to stay for as much or little time as they feel they need up until they turn 24-years-old, understanding that they are working diligently to meet their goals and are compliant with the Resident Handbook and program expectations.

Is Bethany House faith-based?

Bethany House is a faith-based organization, however we believe that faith is a personal matter. For this reason, we do not require our residents to participate in any faith-based activities, but invite our residents to explore their own spirituality as an aspect of our holistic approach.

What is the application process?

When a referral of any kind is made, whether self-referred or referred by a provider, we first schedule a meeting to get to know the prospective resident and provide a brief introduction to the program. Our staff provides opportunity for the young lady to ask questions for clarification on the expectations and requirements of the program. If it is determined that the young lady is a good fit and is ready to engage in the program, she is offered an application to complete. After the completion of the application, our team will meet with the young lady to discuss any remaining questions and the goals that she has for her time at Bethany House. Upon successful completion of that interview, a move-in date is scheduled.
